BODY ODOUR
Body odour is a common problem which is perceived to be the unpleasant smell from the body.
Some have it but do not even know they do, some people know, but do not know the solution to it.
The sweet from the body itself, its odourless, but the bacteria living on the skin breakdown the protein molecules and fatty acid in our sweet into acids, which as a result produces odour. It can affect the quality of ones life, causing embarrassment, especially when amidst people.

Body odour is usually specific to an individual, depending on the types of diet, and medication used.
Different part of the body can produces odour such as the armpit, genitals, mouth, pubic hair, feet, groin, behind the ear etc
Body odour is rooted to once personal hygiene, It is good to ensure that we take adequate measure to eradicate this embarrassment, by ensuring proper hygiene.
For regular body functioning, the body produces sweet, in order to regulate the body temperature.
Body hormones becomes more active, during puberty, therefore body odour becomes an evidence. Obese people and diabetic patients are also more susceptible to body odour.
Some Factors responsible for body odour are
- Diet:- certain foods contribute to body odour especially when we have indigestion
- Stress:- Many peoples sweat excessively while working, which leads to body odour.
- Underlying Medical Conditions.
- Poor Personal Hygiene:- When you do not have your bath or wash some necessary parts of the body well, especially those part prone to odour. This may leads to body odour.
- Excessive weight:-too much fat in the body, especially those who are obese are more susceptible to have body odour.
Prevention
- Use antiseptic soap, and wash thoroughly, the areas prone to odour, and dry yourself with a clean towel
- Use antiperspirant or deodorants.
- Avoid food that contribute to body odour such as onions, garlic, etc
- Do regular laundry
- Avoid putting on other people clothes
- Wear cloths that are moderate for each season, allowing circulating of air,
- Maintain Personal Hygiene:- hand washing and frequent bathing
- Change your socks regularly.
