How to correct a Toddler

Many time we want to avoid spanking a toddler, because of their tender age, which may cause physical harm or emotional imbalance. https://robbingmind.blogspot.com/2023/05/spanking-toddler.html but found out that we are been force to spank them unintentionally.





Then how should we discipline a toddler if needs demanded.

Lets look at the following applicable method used, when they misbehave

Setting of Boundaries: Communicate clearly, in a way they will understand,' making sure you are consistent in your communication, on the acceptable behavior and the non acceptable behavior expected of them. Let theme know that bad behaviour comes with their consequences/cost to pay, whether with yard work, no TV, etc. Being consistence, but not without food.

Change the Surrounding: When you notice your child misbehaving or about to misbehave, immediately change their environment to avoid punishing. 

Setting Time-outs: This is very useful in toddler's discipline, it involves taking them away from the scenario to allow calmness from their bad behaviour. During the process, stay close to know if your child is doing anything wrong during the period, or trying to leave the spot. You shouldn't talk to him/her or allow him to play with his/her siblings. Also take note that the period should not be necessary long, but short.



 Reinforcement:- This is the process of encouraging or establishing a belief or pattern of behaviour you expect your toddlers to demonstrate, using either stickecr, playtime, praises or reward them to encourage them, when your toddler behaves well.

Redirecting their Attention Strategy:-Toddlers easily lose interest and attention in activities, therefore started misbehaving, try to get their attention back without making a big deal, using toys, calm tone, neutral body language etc. 

Be ready for outing: When out, Toddlers behaviour can be embarrassing, so when going out make sure you go out with a lot of toys, story books with pictures. Hunger may also make them behave funny most time, so make sure you take snacks along for them. You can even make sure they take a nap before going out, if sleeping might be troublesome, or making sure there will be provision for napping over there  



Be a Role Model: They learn fast from what they see others do, you being their first teacher must be a good model to them, what they see you doing, saying and acting, they captured and imitated. So learn to lead by example.
